Join us for an online skillshare with Haley Czarnek and Clara Douglas (Law Students for Climate Accountability) who will share knowledge and practical skills based on their experiences campaigning for climate justice in the legal profession, both in the US and the UK.
We hope this can be a springboard to further our Fossil Free Law campaigning here in Scotland, driving a cultural shift in Scottish law schools and law firms so that the climate crisis is front and centre, not just an afterthought.
Speakers
Haley Czarnek is the National Director (US) of Law Students for Climate Accountability (LS4CA). She was part of the first law student committee for LS4CA during their final year in law school, and after graduating, came on as the organization’s first full-time staff member. Since then, Haley has enjoyed working with law students to build the organization into an international network of climate advocates.
Clara Douglas is a law graduate from the University of Cambridge and co-authored LSCA’s Carbon Circle report. She is a member of both LS4CA and Lawyers are Responsible.
Sandy Malcolm is a member of the Fossil Free Law Student Steering Group. He is a LLB graduate from the University of Edinburgh, and has an LLM in Global Environment and Climate Change Law. He is currently studying the Diploma in Professional Legal Practise at the University of Glasgow, in the hopes of becoming an environmental lawyer in Scotland.
