Race & the Right to a Healthy Environment is a participatory research project aiming to establish a benchmark, common understanding and platform to begin to respond to the priorities of Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic groups in Scotland. This included:
- A workshop hosted in August 2024 with 36 participants from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic groups to learn about the barriers to accessing greenspace and healthy and sustainable food. Read the summary of the day.
- A film of 12 participants from this workshop who became community partners in the project. Watch the film.
- The full report on the findings of the lived experience workshop and roundtable. Read the full report.
Based on this project, in April 2025, Scottish Refugee Council invited ERCS to talk to the Peer Integration Group about their lived experiences of accessing greenspaces and healthy food. 29 refugees and asylum seekers attended the session.
We thank all participants for attending the workshop and lending their expertise and experiences.
