Our funders believe in our vision of a Scotland where every person’s right to a healthy environment is respected, protected and fulfilled.
We are very grateful to the Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust for an unrestricted grant which made the creation of ERCS possible in 2020. This was aided by Scottish Environment LINK, several of its member organisations and private donations which contributed towards core costs in our first year.
From October 2021 our work was further supported by the Scottish Government’s Equality and Human Rights Fund administered by Inspiring Scotland. We use this grant to increase awareness and participation of equality groups on the human right to a healthy environment.
In 2022, we were awarded funding from The Baring Foundation and the William Grant Foundation to scale up our activities as Scotland’s only legal hub for environment justice.
In April 2024, we were delighted to be awarded one of only three lead-in grants from the new Independent Human Rights Fund for Scotland, hosted by Corra Foundation. The fund supports people to use human rights as a tool for change and this includes the right to a healthy environment.
Our work continues to consolidate and grow, thanks to the continued support from Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust, Esmée Fairbairn Foundation and the Polden Puckham Charitable Foundation who have awarded us successive grants towards core costs and our advocacy programme.
To all our funders and individual donors – thank you!
