Environmental Standards Scotland (ESS) is a public body which was established in 2021 to ensure that public authorities comply with environmental law and that environmental law is effective. This report assesses the contribution of ESS to effective environmental governance with respect to ERCS’s representations and makes recommendations for improvement.
